Using epidemiological and genetic methods, she conducted systematic studies on adolescent twins to uncover the roles of genetic and environmental factors in adolescent health issues. She concentrated on the prevention and control of obesity in children and adolescents, as well as health policy research, providing scientific evidence to guide the formulation and implementation of health policies for Chinese children and adolescents. As the principal investigator, she has led numerous research projects funded by entities such as the National Natural Science Foundation, the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Health, and UNICEF. She has authored over 40 papers as the first author or corresponding author in significant domestic and international journals, including The Lancet and American Journal of Medical Genetics. She teaches undergraduate and graduate courses in Child and Adolescent Health and Early Prevention of Adult Diseases, and participates in textbook writing. She has served as a member and secretary of the 4th and 5th Child and Adolescent Health Branch of the Chinese Preventive Medicine Association, a member of the School Branch of the Chinese Association of Health Promotion and Education, a young member of the Reproductive Medicine and Reproductive Ethics Branch of the China Eugenics Association, and a corresponding editorial board member of the Chinese School Health journal. She has received the first prize in the Science and Technology Progress Award from the Chinese Preventive Medicine Association and the third-class Beijing Science and Technology Award as the second contributor.
