On November 10, 2024, the unveiling ceremony of the "Peking University Health Science Center-Fuyang Women and Children's Hospital Clinical Translation Research Joint Laboratory" and the Sustainable Development Summit Forum of Fuyang Women and Children's Hospital were held at Fuyang Women and Children's Hospital in Anhui Province. Attendees included Xiao Yuan, Deputy Director of Peking University Health Science Center; Yang Shanhong, Vice Mayor of Fuyang Municipal People's Government; Du Fengren, Party Secretary and Director of the Fuyang Municipal Health Commission; Zhang Yan, Deputy District Governor of Yingzhou District People's Government; Wang Haijun, Vice Dean of Public Health School of Peking University; Liu Jianmeng, Director of the National Health Commission Key Laboratory of Reproductive Health; Li Hongtian, Director of the Institute of Reproductive and Child Health; as well as faculty and students from Peking University Health Science Center and representatives of staff from the affiliated hospitals. Director Xiao Yuan emphasized in his speech that the joint establishment of a clinical translation research laboratory by Peking University Health Science Center and Fuyang Women and Children's Hospital is a significant initiative by Peking University Health Science Center to fulfill its mission of "Healthy China," deepen cooperation with local regions in technological innovation, and support the development of local hospital research and the cultivation of medical talents. The joint laboratory is characterized by the innovative integration of public health and clinical medical, which can effectively promote the combination of public health research methods with clinical needs, as well as the integration of public health academic research with women and children's health promotion practices. By conducting applied research and achievement transformation that originates from and serves clinical healthcare practices, the laboratory aims to create a top-tier collaborative research and development platform, contributing to the improvement of women and children's health in Fuyang, Anhui Province, and even nationwide.

Director Du Fengren expressed in his speech that the deep cooperation between Fuyang Women and Children's Hospital and Peking University Health Science Center will lead regional scientific research and innovation to drive the development of innovative productivity, providing a demonstrative model and talent-technical support for cultivating medical talents in the region with both clinical research and translational application capabilities, as well as improving the health levels of women and children in the border areas of Anhui and Henan.

During the summit forum, Wang Haijun, Liu Jianmeng, and Li Hongtian from Peking University delivered insightful academic presentations on "Current Status of Maternal and Child Health Standards Development in China," "Characteristics of Fertility and Birth Data Among Childbearing-Age Population in China: Insights and Reflections," and "Thoughts on Enhancing Maternal and Child Health Research Capabilities," respectively.
