Bin Wang's Research Group at the School of Public Health, Peking University is Recruiting Postdoctoral Researchers


Due to the need for conducting research on exposomics and environmental health risk assessment, Bin Wang’s research group is now openly recruiting two postdoctoral researchers from both domestic and international candidates.

Introduction to the Collaborating Supervisor

Bin Wang, Tenured Associate Professor/Researcher, Ph.D. Supervisor, School of Public Health, Peking University. Research Interests include Environmental health, big data in exposomics, and artificial intelligence. To date, he has published 55 SCI papers as the first author or corresponding author, with over 5400 citations and an H-index of 40 (WoS). His work has been featured in prestigious international journals including Environmental Health Perspectives, Environmental Science & Technology, Environmental Science & Technology Letters, and The Innovation. Currently, he serves as a Topic Editor for the journal Environmental Science & Technology (focusing on machine learning and population health) and an Academic Editor for The Innovation. He is also on the editorial boards of Environment & Health, Hygiene and Environmental Health Advances, Eco-Environment & Health, and China CDC Weekly. In addition, he leads the "Environment and Population Health" working group for the China Cohort Consortium and serves as the Deputy Secretary-General of the Environmental and Reproductive Health Professional Committee of the Chinese Society for Environmental Mutagens. Together with Professor Mingliang Fang from Fudan University, he co-developed a big data analysis platform linking "exposome-biological mechanisms-disease risk" to support research on health evaluation in exposomics (http://www.exposomex.cn/).

Job responsibilities

Based on the "exposome-biological mechanisms-disease risk" big data analysis platform, you will be able to independently conduct research work under the guidance of the collaborating supervisor. The main research directions include the health risks of mixed environmental exposures, big data in exposomics and artificial intelligence, and the development of new experimental analysis methods for emerging pollutants.

Application conditions

(1) Possession of a doctoral degree (including recent graduates) or within three years of obtaining a doctoral degree, with good health and under the age of 35;

(2) Key consideration will be given to candidates with backgrounds in environmental science, theoretical environmental chemistry, computational toxicology, artificial intelligence, bioinformatics, analytical chemistry, geographic information systems, biostatistics, computer science, etc., with a preference for those with strong programming skills;

(3) Capability to conduct independent scientific research, a solid research foundation, and proficient writing skills in both Chinese and English, with at least one high-level paper published as the first author in leading international or domestic journals in the relevant field;

(4) A passion for scientific research, with a strong sense of responsibility, execution capability, and teamwork skills;

Job benefits

During their tenure, postdoctoral fellows will enjoy various types of insurance, public medical care, and other employee benefits, as well as union member perks.

  1. Salary and benefits:

The annual pre-tax income is approximately 410,000 RMB for "Boshin" Postdoctoral Fellows (including employer contributions to the housing fund), 300,000 RMB for Boya Postdoctoral Fellows (including employer contributions to the housing fund), 280,000 RMB for postdoctoral fellows with national B-level support (including employer contributions to the housing fund), and 210,000 RMB for regular full-time postdoctoral fellows (including employer contributions to the housing fund).

Outstanding postdocs who demonstrate exceptional performance and significant achievements after one year may receive an annual performance bonus. In the third year of employment, the base salary will increase by 20,000 RMB.

Collaborating mentors may provide additional project remuneration to excellent postdocs.

Social insurance and housing funds will be paid in accordance with relevant national and university regulations.

  1. Housing:

Postdoctoral fellows may also apply for postdoctoral apartments based on their entry date, and those renting an apartment will pay rent at market rates. Different types of postdocs will have varying priorities for apartment allocation.

  1. Application for various types of funds:

Fellows are encouraged to apply for various talent projects, research funding, and rewarding grants, such as the National Postdoctoral Program for Innovative Talents, the Hong Kong Scholars Program, the Macao Young Scholars Program, international academic exchange programs, the Boya Postdoctoral Fellowship, and other programs, including the National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC), the Beijing Natural Science Foundation, and the China Postdoctoral Science Foundation.

  1. Household registration:

Non-Beijing postdoctoral fellows can transfer their household registration to the collective household of Peking University Health Science Center. Upon fulfilling the conditions for settlement, the spouse and children of postdoctoral fellows can move their household registration along with them.

  1. Children entering kindergarten and school:

Postdoctoral fellows who meet local policies can enroll their children in kindergarten, primary school, and junior high school based on the national postdoctoral management office introduction letter.

(3) Scanned copies of educational qualifications and degree certificates;

(4) Representative papers, works, or research reports.
